Photographer Dean Sharp's picture shows a 2nd Bn, 12 Cav Skytrooper at the "Rock Island East" cache in Cambodia.

On missions in the jungle, we would be resupplied (log day) every third day. Along with food, water and ammunition, the mail would be delivered. This is when we would get our letters from home and the Stars & Stripes newspaper and sometimes magazines like the First Team magazine. I was able to save this one by folding it and keeping it in my personal ammo can (an empty M-60 ammo can which had a water tight seal and could be used to protect personal items).
