Nov. 1: Jake in rear guarding a deserter.

Nov. 3: Platoon came in to rear. Jake couldn't get the Kit Carson Scout. Trucked to drop off point for night ambush. Man coming on guard stepped on claymore detonator and set it off. Later, spotted gook, called for a Cobra gunship.

Nov. 4: Moved back to road. Coke and boom boom girls waiting. Trucked into rear. Later trucked to night ambush.

Nov. 5: Coke girls, kids and 2 boom boom girls came out and stayed all day. Moved about 2 klicks, and set up. Quiet and cold night.

Nov. 6: Cut a log site. Jake goes in to get Kit Carson Scout. Rocket attack.

Nov. 7: Jake has K. P.

Nov. 8: Awards and medals ceremony in rear.

Nov. 9: Jake at Bien Hoa airport to get Kit Carson Scout.

Nov. 10: Jake says the Kit Carson Scout is the shortest of all gooks and is a Montagnard. Had to rappel 40 feet.

Nov. 11: Jake and scout, Boo, back at Phouc Vinh.

Nov. 12: Took trucks out to night ambush by gook store. Waited for Popular Forces men. Something popped trip flare and the gooks opened up.

Nov. 13: Came back in on trucks. Later went back out. Showing ARVN's how to set up ambush. Rained all night.

Nov. 14: Pushed to truck pick-up site & came in. Later went back out and set ambush.

Nov. 15: Payday. Went back out to the same place.

Nov. 16: Medevac E-6 with heat stroke. Combat assault to Phouc Vinh. Trucked out to rubber plantation, night ambush.

Nov. 17: Combat assault. Helicopter broke rear rotor.

Nov. 18: Rain.

Nov. 19: Log day. Made bridge to cross blue.

Nov. 20: Crossed river on bridge.

Nov. 21: Found campfire, trotters, fish traps, pots, pans, 30 bunkers.

Nov. 22: Combat assault. Log day.

Nov. 23: Bill, Lucky, Rudy, Poppa Tee and Jake go on patrol. Found fresh tracks where loach had shot at gooks.

Nov. 24: Log day. Buzz went in for rear job.

Nov. 25: Buzz sent back out (needed purple heart for rear job), Baker went in for rear job. Went down red ball for 1000 meters.

Nov. 26: Went 1500 meters on a red ball. Found 4 ARA rockets from cobra. Linked up with bulldozers.

Nov. 27: With bulldozers. Saw a deer. Had Thanksgiving dinner.

Nov. 28: Having trouble keeping up with bulldozers.

Nov. 29: Secured maintenance plane for bulldozers.

Nov. 30: Found unexploded 105 shell. Bulldozer hit 55 gallon drum full of gas and it exploded.
